The MVP conversation has narrowed to six names, and three different arguments are being had at once.

Tier one belongs to the two players carrying top-three offenses with usage north of 33 percent. Tier two is the best player on the best team. Tier three is the statistical outlier whose team keeps losing.

The 65-game threshold will decide more of this than anyone wants to admit. Two candidates are already on pace to miss it.

History says the award follows seeding when the production is close. This year the production is not close.
