Buyout market preview: the veterans contenders actually want

Every February the buyout market gets oversold. This year it is genuinely thin.

Nine veterans are considered likely to negotiate their way out, according to executives who have discussed the market. Four of them can still guard an NBA playoff possession.

The shooting is where the value is. Three of the available wings are above 38 percent from three on more than four attempts a game.

Contenders with an open roster spot and a full mid-level exception hold the leverage. Everyone else is bidding with minutes.
